Lost in the Clouds, 1963

Rhythmic Vitality and Animation (V)

This piece completely breaks away from the rules of black-and-white photography in terms of light and shadow, layering and clarity. Instead, it is hardly more than a thought of longing for another congenial soul. Or it just expressed Long’s sentiment for his homeland.

Positioning with a person’s back to the viewer, seeming to intimate an inability to look back and a sense of complete uncertainty. The person is enshrouded in a dense fog.
